Vandy Vape Jackaroo Look and Feel

The Vandy Vape Jackaroo is designed to be a rugged and durable mod. It has a nice soft rubber coating and replaceable panels to change the look of the mod. It has a nice sized colour screen that you can also change the colour of for even more personalisation options. The Jackaroo mod is solid and well built, it is a rectangular shaped mod but has a slight handle shape feel to it. It is very comfy to hold due to the rubber coating. It has an off centre 510. It is also a good weight for a single battery mod. You have the choice of 10 different colour options but only the panels and drip tip are different. 6 of the options are made of G10 and 4 are resin. I went for the red resin one. I believe Vandy Vape will be selling the panels separately.

The battery door is a screw cap, it has a latch you flip out which can be a pain. This is used as a handle to screw and unscrew the battery door. The threads are smooth and the batteries fit well. The mod can take a 26mm tank with no overhang. There is no charging port on this mod but it is always recommended to use an external battery charger. There is a USB port for firmware upgrades only, this is not visible at first look but is under the front panel where the screen is. You would need to remove the 4 screws to access it.

Vandy Vape Jackaroo Features

The Vandy Vape Jackaroo has all the modes you would expect from a mod these days. You have wattage mode, voltage mode, temp control mode and bypass mode. You can also set your own power curves. In TC mode you can set it to Ni, Ti and SS.

As with most mods 5 clicks turns the mod on and off. 3 clicks to enter mode swap, up and down to change modes. One thing to note is with some mods you will have to turn on some of the modes. Holding down the + and – buttons takes you into the sub menu. The first option you come to is a spanner this is where you turn the modes on or off. It is also where you change the screen colour and reset the mod. I looked through the manual to try and see what the other options in this menu where for put couldnt see it in there so I will list below what all the options in this menu mean for if you are struggling to find it.

V: Voltage mode

TC: Temperature control mode

BP: bypass mode

C: this scrolls through the colour options

ARR: auto resistor renew (remove option to ask ‘atomiser new/old’  every time you turn the mod on)

FIR: fire button mode on means the mod will fire when locked and off means it will not.

RES: factory reset.

Holding the + and fire button will lock the adjustment buttons but with fire button mode turned on the mod will still fire, with fire button mode turned off it will not.

Vandy Vape Jackaroo Performance

Using this mod and tank I have had no issues with it. It vapes really well and the flavour from the tank is good. It takes a single 18650/20700/21700 battery which I prefer instead of an inbuilt battery. I like having the option to change my battery if I am out and about.

Ease of Use

The screen on the Jackaroo is nice and clear and gives all the information you will need including a battery percentage. The menu is very easy to use and I like having the option to turn modes on and off.

Jackaroo Tank

The Jackaroo tank is a bottom airflow tank. It comes with a 2ml straight glass and a 5ml bubble glass. It uses a 510 resin drip tip. The one on mine is red, white and blue to match the resin panels. The threading is nice and smooth, it is a top fill tank just turn the top 90 degrees to remove the top cap it is very easy to get on or off. It has one large fill hole which usually I’m not a fan of as you can get air locks but I’ve not had this once while using this tank. I found the flavour from this tank very good with both coils and cloud production is also really good.

Final Thoughts

The Vandy Vape Jackaroo kit is a very good kit. I really like the personalisation options for when I fancy a change. The colours of the panels are really nice. I do prefer the resin panels over the G10 ones. The screen is nice and bright and not to small. I also really like the options to choose which modes you want active on the mod, this makes it very easy to use. If you are looking for a rugged and durable mod with the option to change the battery, then this is a great one for you. You can get this kit for around £65.
